Link is the main protagonist of The Legend of Zelda series. He is sometimes depicted as being a young man around the age of 18 wearing a green tunic and having pointed ears (since he is Hylian). Other times he is depicted with the same attire as a courageous Hylian boy around the age of 10.
Early Life[]
Link's early life is first known in The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. In the particular Ocarina of Time story, Link grows up in Kokiri Forest. Strangely, he is different from the other forest kids (his pointed ears) and is sometimes an outcast because of this, although he befriends some forest people (Saria in particular). But when the Deku Tree dies and the Deku Sprout is born, it tells Link that his mother was Hylian and Link was born in Hyrule. However, because of the war, his mother left him in Kokiri Forest (what she thought of as a safe place) before she died. Since there are many different incarnations of Link throughout the Legend of Zelda games, this is only considered one of them (otherwise known as the Hero of Time). For example, in Spirit Tracks, he is a train engineer, much different from the Link from Ocarina of Time, while the one from Twilight Princess lives on a ranch.
